Virtually every tattoo will need multiple treatments, including fading for cover-ups. Most tattoos require a minimum of 6 to 12 treatments for complete tattoo removal and 3 to 4 treatments for tattoo fading. However, the quantity of treatments is unique for every customer and dependent on a variety of factors. Ink Busters will determine the number of treatments you will need during your free tattoo assessment and consultation. A few factors we consider are your tattoo’s age, size, colors, location, skin type, ink density, ink depth, patient health, pre-existing scarring, and more.
Yes! Ink Busters is an expert in all things tattoo removal, including tattoo fading for cover ups. Cover-up tattoos are much easier to apply once an existing tattoo has been lightened. Laser tattoo removal creates a fresher canvas for your tattoo artists to work on, giving both you and the artist more creativity with your new tattoo. Furthermore, laser tattoo fading allows you to incorporate more colors in your cover-up piece rather than being restricted to only black pigment.

The vast majority of tattoo removal clients have said laser tattoo removal feels similar to a rubber band snapping against the skin. Overall, the procedure is very tolerable. However, depending on your pain tolerance the laser can feel similar to getting a tattoo applied. Luckily, laser tattoo removal is a very fast procedure.

Clients may experience temporary redness, itchiness, swelling, blistering, scabbing, and/or pigmentation changes. These common side effects indicate that your immune system is removing the shattered ink from your skin. All side effects will heal during the 6 to 8 week period following each treatment. As long as proper aftercare is applied outside of our practice, you will experience successful fading without any scarring.
